Neil Young & Crazy Horse "Hey Hey, My My" (1979)
"Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" is a song written by Canadian-American musician Neil Young. Combined with its acoustic counterpart "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)", it bookends Young's 1979 album 'Rust Never Sleeps.'
Lyrics:
Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Out of the blue and into the black
You pay for this, but they give you that
Once you're gone, you can't come back
When you're out of the blue
And into the black
The king is gone but he's not forgotten
Is this the story of Johnny Rotten?
It's better to burn out 'cause rust never sleeps
The king is gone but he's not forgotten
Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.

Nice music
A beautiful song😊😊 smile😊😊😊
Saw them a couple times back in the early-mid 70s in Little Rock. They were packaged with other Southern rock bands like Marshall Tucker and the CDB. They were so good and us being stupid teenagers had no idea we were watching history in the making.
What an album !!! Was so very good.
ascolto e basta !!
What a wonderful singer Joan is......I've been listening to her for quite a long time ! Larry Davies

A song like this is just one more example why the Stones are better then the beatles!👍👍
I'm not a fan of the pedal bass throughout the entire song
Elvis. Is one of the greatest singers out there 😊
I was playing hippy in Colorado mountains when this came out. I kept the song but left the life behind, and went home to Dallas to resume being a city boy. Hippy life sucked but at 72 I still wear my hair long. Grow it for 4 years, then wear it short for 4 ... and on it goes. Bout that time to cut again.
Smile.
I love this song
What happened to the real video, from this song?

I thought I’d leave a comment about Mr. Nat King Cole. My father took my mother to go see Nat King Cole in Los Angeles in the area called Silverlake off of Alvarado Avenue and 11th St. small club very nondescript but when Mr. Cole sang, it was unforgivable moment for my mother and father, testament to hard. Nat King Cole worked to bring the music to the masses as they say in those days after World War II feelings of uncertainty and what was to come was very challenging for the people that came back after World War II, cherish that my father shared that with me and thank you, Mr. Cole for the beautiful memories❤❤❤❤
Love and blessings to every one of you who is reading my comment while listening to this beautiful song! 😍
